Contemporary Ambrotypes

Maayan Kasimov and Rob Norton are two contemporary photographers who work with ambrotypes, an historical photographic process. The artists embrace the uncertainty and individuality of their ambrotypes, which are extremely sensitive to slight changes in processing, making each one completely unique. Looking at Companions and From a Distance, their respective portrait series, we are seduced by the poetic mystery of their characters and their process.
